How does Sire Seeker work?
SireSeeker connects buyers and sellers through a reliable, purpose-built ecommerce platform. Sellers create listings using our template, buyers browse and purchase directly through our secure checkout, and once payment is complete we notify the storage centre to release the semen into the buyer’s inventory.
Buyers can then arrange collection/shipping — or we can book shipping directly for them.
Why should I sell via SireSeeker?
Because it gets your sires into buyers’ tanks with minimum fuss.
SireSeeker is quickly becoming the go-to destination for producers across all breeds. More eyes on your bull = more enquiry = more sales.
What sort of information do you need for a listing?
As much as you can give us.
Our template walks you through everything you’d normally see in a sale catalogue, plus space for comments/highlights (we can help write these).
Must-haves:
Good photos and ideally a short video. Phone pics are fine - and we can connect you with a professional if you prefer. Extras like structural assessments, semen testing, morphology, etc. are valuable but not essential.
Who decides what my genetics are worth?
You do.
We suggest checking where your bull sits in the market (including other SireSeeker listings), but the price is entirely your call. We never dictate or cap your pricing.
Do you take an ownership interest in the bulls listed?
No.
Unlike some large genetics companies, we don’t take equity or require ownership stakes. You keep ownership and control at all times.
Can I sell via SireSeeker?
Generally, yes — we’re open to breeders big and small.
We simply require that sellers confirm they’re authorised to sell the genetics and that only licensed semen is listed.
If you’re unsure, just reach out.
If I list a bull with SireSeeker, can I sell his genetics elsewhere?
To be completely transparent: we do require exclusivity. Our revenue is performance-based and our listing fee is modest, covering only a portion of the logistics behind your listing.
You can still put a bull into a major sale to set a benchmark price — that helps everyone. But ongoing enquiries should be directed back through us so we can manage the process for you.
We’re confident the outcome of listing with us will far outweigh the alternative: more reach, more buyers, and far less admin.
How long does it take for my listing to go live?
Usually 1–2 business days after you submit everything.
We verify a few details to ensure all listings meet our standards.
If we need to set up arrangements with a new storage/collection centre, it may take slightly longer - but we keep you updated throughout.
What are your fees?
For sellers:
- $100 + GST per sire per year (listing fee)
- 7.5% commission per semen transaction (semen only; excludes shipping)
- Commission includes standard merchant fees (Amex etc. may incur a surcharge passed to the buyer)
We may run promotions that reduce or waive the listing fee.
For buyers:
- No commissions
- No buyer premiums
- No merchant fees for standard credit cards, debit cards, PayPal or instant EFT
- Only “premium” payment types (for example Amex, Diners, UnionPay) may attract a surcharge
I'm on a tight timeline — what should I do?
Contact the storage/collection centre directly to confirm:
- Shipper availability
- Packing lead times
- Expected delivery
Assuming a shipper is available and dispatched the next day, allow up to 7 days for delivery.
The semen storage location is clearly shown on each sire’s listing page.
I want to promote my sire - can I do that?
Yes.
We provide a direct link to your listing to share on social media or email. We also offer optional marketing packages, including:
- Boosted listing visibility
- SireSeeker social media promotion
- SEO and search engine advertising

How do I find the right sire?
Every seller is guided through a listing process that includes pedigree, EBV/EPD data, highlights, and other key info. Listings usually include links to breed society pages, and may include structural assessments, semen quality reports, and additional performance data such as progeny or sibling information.
We give you everything you need to make an informed choice.

About our products
SireSeeker was created by producers, for producers.
We know how frustrating it is trying to find the right genetics when the process feels slow, controlled, disjointed, or just plain hard.
So we built a simple, central place where buyers and sellers can connect directly.
Here, you can browse a wide range of frozen genetics, compare options, and buy instantly — no waiting, no chasing invoices, no missing breeding windows.
For sellers, it’s risk-free to list with no upfront costs, full control over your pricing, and freedom to store your inventory wherever it suits you.
At the end of the day, SireSeeker is about making life easier: quicker access, smoother sales, and a fairer way for producers everywhere to trade genetics.
Buy and ship in one click.
How can I have confidence in the quality of the semen?
We only accept licensed semen that has passed the required tests at collection. Some sellers also include morphology results to give you extra confidence.
However, SireSeeker does not accept responsibility for semen quality or any issues that may arise after purchase – including shipping, handling and use.
Please read our Terms & Conditions for full details.
Who is responsible for the sire and the provenance of the semen?
Ownership details are shown on each listing, and all sellers must confirm they’re authorised to sell the genetics. If in doubt, you can generally find ownership information via the bull’s breed society page - we link to this whenever possible.
Responsibility for provenance and quality always rests with the seller.
How often is listing information updated?
Listings are updated at least annually when renewed, and the update date is shown on the page.
Sellers can update more often, but some may not.
Because EBVs/EPDs change regularly, we provide direct links to the breed society page so you can always access the most current data.
How frequently is the information on the listing updated?
As a default, information is updated annually on renewal of the listing. The date that the information was uploaded/updated will be noted on the listing page. Sellers are encouraged to update more often but some may not. We know that information, such as EBV/EPD figures, vary regularly throughout the year, which is why we facilitate a direct link to the breed society page for the bull wherever possible.

Shipping
All your queries answered regarding shipping.
Who arranges the shipping?
That’s up to you.
SireSeeker can book shipping through our network of freight partners. Enter your destination details at checkout and we’ll generate an instant quote and arrange freight on your behalf. Storage centre dispatch/handling/shipper fees will also be added to your order.
Prefer to handle it yourself?
Choose Click & Collect at checkout. The storage centre will transfer the stock into your inventory until you decide to collect, ship, or use it.
How are your shipping costs calculated?
We use an integrated logistics gateway to get instant freight pricing. This quote is combined with any dispatch/handling/shipper fees from the storage centre and added to your order total before you click to complete your order.
How much does shipping cost?
There’s no fixed price — genetics are stored all over Australia and buyers are located everywhere (including overseas). Each shipment is quoted individually at checkout so you know the full cost before committing.
Every storage centre also has its own handling, dispatch, and shipper fees, which we display clearly before purchase.
I'm not in Australia. Can I purchase from SireSeeker?
Yes.
Our listings are currently located in Australia and priced in AUD, but you can buy from anywhere in the world. Just make sure you confirm export eligibility (for both the semen and any embryos/progeny produced) before checking out.
We can’t instantly quote international freight, so contact us - there are often ways to make export shipping more cost-effective.
Can I arrange shipping myself?
Absolutely. If you’d prefer to organise your own freight (or add your purchase to an existing shipment), select Click & Collect at checkout. No shipping fees will be charged and an email will be sent instantly to the centre confirming your purchase and releasing the semen to your inventory.
You will then need to make arrangements with the storage centre for shipping (or use if you also use that centre) directly.
Note: many storage centres require you to hold an account with them before they will dispatch
genetics on your behalf. If in doubt, contact the centre listed on the sire’s page.
